I received a rec file that was entered in EpiData 2.1a. When I tried to use it or export it in EpiData version 3, the message was that the file was corrupted. One solution not listed on this web site is to check for the number of carriage returns/line feeds at the end of the file. My corrupted file, which had three lines of data per case, had a total of two CR/LF at the end of the file, one at the end of the last record following the exclamation point, and one extra CR/LF. I removed the extra CR/LF using WordPad in Windows and the problem was resolved.
